The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites you to join our team in the position of:

SUMMER STUDENT - HEALTH & SAFETY

Summer Student Position

June 2, 2025 to June 30, 2025 - 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
July 1, 2025 to August 29, 2025 - 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
$17.20/hour

Funding for this position has been provided by the Ministry and the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services as part of the Government of Ontario's 2025 Summer Experience Program.

Under the direction of the Health and Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Summer Student will assist in the tasks of research and development of Occupational Health and Safety related programs, procedures and guidelines. They will also assist in the completion of inventories and Job Safety Analysis and/or Risk Assessments of a variety of positions. The ideal candidate will currently be studying in one of the following areas: Health and Safety, Engineering, Body Mechanics, Ergonomics or Human Resources.

Mandatory Requirements
  • All students must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution or within six months of graduation and have reached the age of 15 and not yet reached the age of 25 upon commencement of employment or up to 29 years of age for persons with a disability, if disabled, within the meaning of the Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • Strong language communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Keen attention to details.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including but not limited to Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
Preferred Requirements
  • Safety and/or WHMIS training
  • Knowledge and experience with the use of Autocad.
