Summer Student - Hay River

NTPC is looking for a Summer Student to join our Finance team. This position offers an opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field to gain practical experience in the Electrical Utility sector. The selected candidate will collaborate with finance professionals and contribute to accounting and financial analysis projects.

Responsibilities

• Enter financial data into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy.
• Assist in monitoring and preparing monthly entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist finance team members with Financial Record Management as needed.
• Analyze and review financial accounts to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Review and assist in maintaining the company's Chart of Accounts.
• Assist with financial Year-End Activities.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software.

This casual position pays $30.82 per hour plus 10% vacation pay. No housing or relocation assistance provided.
