Position Details

  • Title: Developmental Service Worker - Summer Student (on-site)
  • Contract Length: 8 weeks
  • Pay: $18.50/hour
  • Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9am - 4pm

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and life skills.
  • Foster social interaction and inclusion among people supported, encouraging participation and building confidence.
  • Document attendance, participation, reactions, and progress to ensure individualized care and support.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and organizing documents.
  • Work in a position of trust with the people supported.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements and Skills

  • Post-secondary education in a Human Services-related program.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Aged between 15 and 30 years at the start of employment.
  • Meet all requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • An energetic, compassionate individual who enjoys working with vulnerable populations.
  • Valid Driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Must provide or be willing to obtain a current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector check.

Bona Fide Requirements

  • Ability to engage in all aspects of Safe Management and hold valid First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations via approved QR code.
