Job description

The Ontario Energy Board is currently looking for two (2) energetic and collaborative students to join our team as Digitization Summer Students. This position reports to the Deputy Registrar - Projects. These highly motivated summer students will support the OEB’s creation of a digital repository of adjudicative records.

The Adjudicative team drives process innovation and operational change, proactively identifying opportunities to develop and improve the adjudicative process. The Adjudicative Projects team leads strategic project work to improve the processing and disposition of all matters before the OEB, including the implementation of new technology, mapping of business processes, and the digitization of records. This group outreaches with other tribunals and adjudicative stakeholders to identify best practices and emerging issues with respect to adjudication.

Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of areas, which will include the following:

  • Examining and sorting records for scanning
  • Tracking records as they go through the digitization process by listing significant information into an Excel spreadsheet
  • Scanning physical records while meeting digitization and quality standards
  • Securely storing digitized records into HPe Content Manager (EDRMS) while indexing appropriate and specific information/metadata within Content Manager (training will be provided on the EDRMS)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Motivated independent thinker who is able to also work in a team
  • Analytical thinker
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat
  • Applicable experience in the area of digital records, digitization and record keeping is an asset
  • Enrollment in a post-secondary Information Science, Records and Information Management studies, or Archival studies program is preferred
