Status: Casual
Hours: 35-40 hours per week, dependent on department.
Salary: Dependent on department.

This employment opportunity is open to current high school or post-secondary students who reside in Iqaluit with the exception of those away for school.
The incumbent must be dependable, and punctual, and for some departments they must be willing to work in harsh outdoor weather conditions in areas with obnoxious smells. They must also be responsible and capable to work independently, as well as, in a team setting and be able to handle working under time constraints.
QUALIFICATIONS- Current Student (High School or Post-secondary)
- Ability to communicate clearly with staff and the general public
- Ability to follow directions and instructions
- Capability to perform duties safely and efficiently
- Understand and comply with all Policies and Procedures
- Ability to speak Inuktitut or French is a definite asset
It is a requirement of this position to provide an acceptable Criminal Record Check. For the Recreation department, a Vulnerable Sector Check and TB Test will be required to apply. It is recommended these are requested at time of application due to the processing times of these documents.

Les personnes retenues doivent faire preuve de fiabilité et de ponctualité. Il faut prévoir que certains services municipaux offrent des emplois à la merci des conditions météorologiques extérieures difficiles et dans des sites aux odeurs désagréables. Il faut être responsables et capables de travailler de manière autonome et en équipe, et ne pas craindre le travail sous pression.

Pour ce poste, il faut accepter de procéder à une vérification de son casier judiciaire. Pour le Service des loisirs, il est nécessaire de fournir les résultats d’un test de tuberculose ainsi qu’une vérification acceptable du secteur vulnérable.
