Job summary

BASF Agricultural Solutions is hiring a Summer Research Associate to join our team in Winkler, MB (or Mordern, MB). The 4-month summer contract offers a wage of $25-$32 per hour and includes overtime pay during peak periods.

You'll support crop protection research at the Manitoba Research Farm, assisting with seeding, spraying, data collection, and site preparation, while gaining exposure to fungicides, herbicides, seed treatments, and biologicals.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an agriculture or related degree program.
• High level of enthusiasm and strong commitment to gain experience in field research and the agricultural industry.
• Demonstrated leadership skills & academic achievement.
• An understanding of agricultural practices and farm equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the research program and helping develop agricultural solutions for Canadian growers.
• You will be involved in and assist with all aspects of the crop protection research program at the BASF Manitoba Research Farm.
• Activities to include planning/preparation, seeding, spraying, evaluating/collecting data as well as maintenance and tour preparation for the site.
• Experience will be gained with a diverse array of crops across all crop protection indications including fungicides, herbicides, seed treatments, insecticides and biologicals.

• Demonstrated leadership skills & academic achievement.
• An understanding of agricultural practices and farm equipment is an asset.
• Valid Driver‘s License.
