Job summary

Crop Management Network Inc. in Alberta is offering a four-month Summer Intern Program for students in agricultural or related fields. You will gain hands-on experience in retail operations, customer service, agronomy, and field trials, supporting Account Managers and the Lead Field Agronomist.

You’ll scout fields, assist with field days, and help analyze local crop performance. A company truck is provided for summer field scouting, and safety training is included.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an agricultural program, business program, or related field.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence; 3 years driving experience required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Self-driven and able to coordinate daily activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible schedule, including Saturdays and overtime during busy seasons.
• Able to operate a forklift and tractor (training provided).
• Comfortable using applicable computer systems.
• Willing to complete First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, and forklift training.

Responsibilities

• Keep the yard, equipment, and buildings clean and free of hazards.
• Prepare and complete orders for delivery, transfer, or pickup.
• Assist with blending fertilizer and follow inventory control processes.
• Unload materials and product from delivery trucks and place in warehouse and yard.
• Safely operate a forklift to move, unload, and load product.
• Deliver a high level of customer service.
• Follow CMN's Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures.
• Regularly scout customer fields and record weed, insect, disease, and other observations.
• Document field findings
• Work with Account Managers to analyze field observations and review product and service plans that fit growers' needs.
• Assist the CMN Trial Committee with field days and ongoing monitoring of plots.
• Work with Lead Field Agronomist to drive CMN agronomy initiatives, communicate innovative products, and present local findings to the Account Manager team.
