Job summary

Manulife John Hancock is hosting a Software Engineering Internship in Waterloo, Ontario, offering hybrid work with in-office Tue–Thu and remote Mon/Fri. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full software lifecycle, with mentorship from experienced engineers and exposure to enterprise technologies.

The program includes the GRO early talent track designed to launch your career, plus collaboration with diverse technology teams and opportunities to contribute from day one.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Asa Software EngineeringIntern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience developing applications and systems that support business and customer solutions. You’ll work with modern development tools and frameworks to build scalable, high‑quality software while contributing to the full software development lifecycle. We are currently looking for highly motivated students to join us in our Waterloo, Ontario, Canada office for a summer internship, running from April 29 th – August 19 th , 2027 . This is a hybrid position, where you are expected to be in the office Tuesday-Thursday, with the opportunity to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Position Responsibilities:

Salary Range:

the salary range is expected to be between $52,650 CAD to $70,200 CAD.

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. The annual salary will be pro‑rated based on the length of the work‑term
