Job summary

Central Ontario FS, a division of GROWMARK, Inc., is offering a summer agronomy internship in Drayton, ON. This role involves scouting fields, documenting weeds, insects, and diseases using IPM techniques, GPS, and satellite imagery while representing the company in growers' fields.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in agriculture programs, at least 18, with a valid Full G license, and able to travel; some training and extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an agriculture-related college or university program.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrates abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license (Full G), with ability to travel independently.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme conditions (hot, cold, wet).
• Must be able to walk crop fields and conduct visual inspections.
• Willing to participate in required training related to policies and procedures.
• May be required to work extended hours during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Use IPM techniques, satellite imagery and GPS to document notes from the field (weeds, insects, diseases).
• Represent Central Ontario FS in growers' fields and on the road.
• Scouting with Central Ontario FS to gain boots-on-the-ground agronomy experience this summer.
• Gain knowledge and experience for a career in agriculture.
