At the Y, we create an exciting, safe camp environment for kids and staff to have an unforgettable summer. While campers experience unique adventures, our Summer Day Camp Inclusion Aides develop leadership skills and confidence, forming lasting friendships and memories.

Join us for the experience of a lifetime. Pay starts at $17.90 per hour, Monday-Friday schedule

As a Summer Day Camp Inclusion Aide, you will support and assist individuals with disabilities enrolled in Y programs to promote participation and independence. You will meet their individual needs, serve as a professional role model, and guide participants through activities that foster a positive learning environment and develop life skills and safe behaviors.

What you'll do:
Program Participant Experience
  • Support inclusion and create an outstanding experience for children, parents, and families
  • Modify activities as needed, promote participation, and maintain confidentiality
  • Model socially acceptable behaviors and implement behavior management plans
  • Communicate with team members, leaders, and parents regularly
  • Support program activities and substitute support when needed
Participant Safety
  • Ensure health and safety, follow standards, and evaluate risks
  • Attend to specific health needs of individuals with disabilities
  • Ensure safety rules are followed and equipment is maintained
  • Keep facilities clean and report unsafe conditions
What you'll Need
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 18+ years old
  • Experience working with children, including those with disabilities preferred
  • Passion for YMCA's mission and serving diverse youth
  • Knowledge of child development and appropriate practices
  • Ability to follow inclusion plans and manage behavior
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Meet physical and background check requirements
Child Abuse Prevention
  • Report hazards and suspicious behavior
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Complete required child abuse prevention training
