Job description

Wolf Creek Public Schools is offering a Summer School Chrome Academy program for students who are just finishing grade 9 and going into Grade 10 next school year. The program will run from Monday to Thursday most weeks (four days per week) with the exception of the first week and statutory holidays. Hours of online instruction, facilitation and assessment will be 3 hours/day.

This position is online based, with duties effective from July 2, 2025 to August 6, 2025. The successful candidate may work from the summer school location, Ecole Secondaire Lacombe Composite High School, if they prefer.

Background and Qualifications

  • Candidates must have experience delivering applicable high school subjects for two or more years.
  • Due to the nature of Chrome Academy, candidates will be asked to facilitate learning and oversee several courses in the CTS/computing strand.
  • Candidates must be able to manage/distribute course materials in a compressed amount of time while providing students with ongoing feedback on their work.
  • Candidates familiar with Hapara, Google classroom and supervision in flexible learning environments would be considered assets to this program.
  • Each teacher will be responsible for keeping around 50 students on track to finish their courses.
  • The modules taught will be; COM 1225, INF 1030, INF 1060, INF 1070, COM 1910, INF 1910

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree and Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Effective organization and classroom management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
