Job Description for Summer Camp Teachers

Reporting to the Principal, teachers will implement programs and curriculum in assigned classes (Chinese, Music, Arts and Culture, Physical Activity, Mathematics, Science, and Chinese Input) to maximize students' learning experiences.

1. Deliver programs and prepare teaching materials according to the curriculum and as approved by the Principal;
2. Instruct students utilizing various teaching methods;
3. Keep and maintain students’ attendance records;
4. Contact parents under Chinese School’s policies when a student has been absent;
5. Implement fire drill procedures in the classroom when necessary;
6. Communicate with parents regarding students’ progress and issues if required;
7. Attend teachers’ meetings and assist with school events;
8. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Previous teaching experience, preferably with PE teaching experience in Ontario;
• Teachers’ College Diploma, University degree, or equivalent;
• ECE Diploma is preferred for Chinese teachers in junior classes;
• Good command of Cantonese, Mandarin, and/or English;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and supervisory skills;
• Availability from July 7, 2025, to August 8, 2025, Monday to Friday.
