Duties: The Substitute Instructor will cover short term leaves of regular instructors. Responsibilities include facilitating learning and ensuring student success. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction. In addition, the instructor will oversee and ensure program safety during equipment operation and practical instruction, complete the related administrative, record keeping and monitoring activities as well as other related duties as required.
Qualifications: Red Seal Professional Cook certification and Grade 12 or equivalent. Experience should include a minimum of 5 years’ varied field experience as a Journeyperson and 5 years in a supervisory capacity. A Provincial Instructor Diploma or other relevant teaching certification and experience are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
