Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Power division is seeking Protection and Control Engineers for HV/EHV AC and DC substation projects across North America. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop efficient and reliable substations, ensuring project schedules and successful completion. Your Key Responsibilities

• Define P&C and SCADA design scopes following application documents.
• Develop control building layouts, one-line diagrams, schematics, control panels, wiring diagrams, station service diagrams, bills of material, cable schedules, and point assignments.
• Visit sites to gather and verify data supporting engineering during various project phases.
• Conduct technical studies, develop specifications, and review standards and drawings.
• Guide engineering teams to align deliverables with project requirements.
• Support construction activities, resolve site queries, and perform inspections.
• Select equipment, prepare specifications, and support material procurement.
• Engage in SCADA/Telecom engineering activities under supervision.
• Ensure design compliance and good practices, maintain thorough documentation, and coordinate with project teams.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and Microstation.
• Knowledge of substation SCADA and Telecom systems.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to convey technical information effectively.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum 6 years of detailed design experience in Protection & Control for HV substations in North America.
• Registered Professional Engineer with EGBC.

Work environment includes office settings with flexible hybrid options; field work may involve exposure to weather conditions.
