Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Calgary is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Substation Engineer to contribute to high-voltage substation projects. You will support the design and implementation of critical utilities infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Canadian standards while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate should have 4 to 9 years of experience in substation engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• 4 to 9 years of progressive experience in substation engineering.
• Exposure to HV/MV yard layouts and equipment specification.
• Experience supporting short-circuit, arc flash, and protection coordination studies.

Responsibilities

• Support development of substation design packages.
• Conduct engineering studies including short-circuit and load-flow modelling.
• Participate in meetings with utilities and clients alongside senior engineers.
