Your role and responsibilities

The project execution team is at the heart of our organization. It meets and exceeds customer expectations while contributing to building a profitable and sustainable future. ABB Measurement & Analysis in Quebec is a world leader in spectroscopy. Our contract engineering service is the largest Canadian supplier of space optical sensors used for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and global weather forecasting. Our plant is recognized for its expertise in developing and manufacturing products that meet various industrial analysis needs daily.

Joining one of Quebec's largest engineering departments, you will actively contribute to our clients' projects and R&D efforts. You will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team. As part of an engineering contract project, you will serve as the project manager for projects executed by external suppliers, responsible for negotiating, drafting, and ensuring contract execution. You will manage projects of varying complexities with budgets from $50k to $10M.

Attached to the project office, you will ensure project delivery by coordinating communications and monitoring stakeholders. You will engage external suppliers to develop innovative products within budget, meeting strict quality standards and client requirements, including those of Canadian and European space agencies.

Responsibilities include:
  • Managing large-scale projects, including planning, cost, and risk management.
  • Monitoring and controlling project execution aligned with main project parameters.
  • Managing relationships with external suppliers from submission through execution to contractual closure.
  • Drafting contracts and key documents: NDA, IP, SOW, WBS, etc.
  • Negotiating contracts and managing changes, delays, claims, and disputes in coordination with the main project manager.
  • Collaborating with legal, procurement, and project control departments to ensure compliance.
  • Working with key project team members such as Systems Engineers, QA, and technical leaders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or relevant field.
  • Minimum 10 years in project management, contract management, subcontracting, and negotiation, preferably in aerospace or defense.
  • Experience with technical SOW, WBS, master planning, and payment milestones.
  • Experience managing large, complex projects and international projects.
  • Proficiency in all project lifecycle stages.
  • Negotiation skills and experience with contractual amendments.
  • Bilingual in English and French (French required, English necessary for client communication).
  • Asset: experience with European Space Agency projects.
  • Asset: PMP certification.
