As a stylist-in-training in this temporary 90-day position, we’re here to help you learn the business while delivering exceptional customer service across all channels of communication.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

1. You will learn the ins and outs of growing the business and controlling expenses by observing other stylists and managers.
2. You’ll greet customers and answer the phone—your smile is your logo.
3. Maintain cleanliness and follow safety standards; while not glamorous, these are essential tasks.

As a stylist-in-training, you may be eligible for promotion to a stylist position once licensed. Promotion is not automatic; you must earn it.

HOW TO GET PROMOTED TO A STYLIST

To be considered, you must:

1. Possess a valid license in your state of employment.
2. Be able to perform duties permitted by your license, including cutting, styling, coloring, waxing treatments, washing, and perming hair, with or without accommodations.
3. Demonstrate values of honesty, accountability, integrity, and respect.

Additional requirements include:

1. Graduating from an accredited cosmetology school and obtaining necessary licenses within or before 90 days of hire.
2. Having good judgment, time management, and a desire to work in a dynamic salon environment.
3. Communicating effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
4. Being tech-savvy to use point-of-sale systems and data entry.
5. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Comfort with lifting up to 10 lbs., and occasionally 10-25 lbs. for unloading shipments.
• Being on your feet most of the day.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Availability for mandatory meetings and training, including overnight travel.
