Stylist Educator

We’re looking for an experienced stylist to join our team as an educator who is interested in working both behind the chair, and as part of our education team. Our core value is to “get better at being who we already are” and at the heart of that is a drive to keep learning. We’re looking for just the right person to be part of our growing education team.

The Refinery House isn’t just a Hair Salon, it's a community-driven, people-first, gathering place, built on the connections between us and our chairs. We have three hair salons and an education center. We’re a B Corp company, a green circle salon and use davines products exclusively. Hours & Location:

Part Time or Full Time. Must be available at least two of the following days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30am-3:30pm. Must be available for hours in Chilliwack at our Industry Commercial Arts Institute. Behind the chair shifts are possible could be at any of our locations (Chilliwack or Abbotsford) depending on preference.

Wages:

Paid by Hour & Commission for services
Hours: $25-35/hr depending on experience and availability
Commission: Competitive rates

Experience & Expertise required:

  1. Preferably 5+ years of experience behind the chair, 3 years experience minimum.
  2. Able to execute and articulate advanced colour and cut theory.
  3. Willing to train in the specific methodology used in our hair program.
  4. Able to work within a team environment.
  5. Function as part of the education team in creating ongoing learning plans across the organization for all levels of stylists.
  6. Participation in ongoing tasks and duties as they relate to the operation of the schools and shops.
  7. Curriculum execution and development.
