We accept applications from students who are currently enrolled in a business, management or commerce degree program. Hiring opportunities are typically open in September for employment the following year, students may be hired on a seasonal or permanent basis. Applicants genuinely interested in launching a career in accounting will be given precedence. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • The ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to rapidly absorb and utilize information in a fast-paced work environment
  • A thorough understanding of accounting and the accounting industry
  • Basic experience in or understanding of various software programs, including Sage 50, QuickBooks, CaseWare and Microsoft Office a definite asset
  • Strong typing and computer skill
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Very reliable

Responsibilities :

  • Initial preparation of working papers, financial statements corporate and personal income tax returns, GST returns, payroll for owner managed businesses, T4s, T5s
  • General bookkeeping and data entry
  • Meeting deadlines as assigned by the partner or senior staff accountant
  • Handling and filing confidential information as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
