Job Description:

This position at the University of Calgary is for a Student Wellness Licensed Practical Nurse within Student Experience and Support. The role involves providing primary care, health education, immunizations, mental health support, and participating in health promotion activities on campus. The nurse will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and report to the Director of Health and Counselling Services. The position is primarily based at the U of C Main Campus, with possible travel to other campuses. It is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient education, medication review, and procedural assistance.
  • Conduct assessments, coordinate diagnostics, and support referrals.
  • Manage medical supplies and equipment, ensure confidentiality.
  • Triages patients, assists with health emergencies, and supports mental health initiatives.
  • Participate in health education programs and immunization campaigns.
  • Support administrative tasks and team scheduling.
Qualifications:
  • Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
  • CPR-C/BLS certification.
  • 3-5 years of experience in public health, primary care, or mental health.
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
