Job summary

UBC Counselling Services is seeking a Counsellor to support the Faculty of Education's students with mental wellbeing. This role focuses on brief counselling, triage, and referrals within an integrated care framework.

The position is a leave replacement for a fixed term and operates in a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will provide crisis support, collaborate with education staff, and contribute to wellness programming.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counselling Psychology or related field is required.
• Eligible for professional certification in British Columbia.
• Minimum of five years of experience in clinical counselling plus supervision of Master's practicum students.

Responsibilities

• Provide single session/short-term counselling by phone, video or in person.
• Triage and refer to stepped care including Counselling Services and external resources.
• Offer crisis response and wellbeing programming; collaborate with Faculty of Education staff.
• Provide consultation to faculty, staff and student leaders on student mental health concerns.
• Develop and deliver orientations, presentations and training to support student wellbeing.
