Job summary

South East Cornerstone Public School Division is seeking a temporary Educational Assistant at McNaughton High School in Moosomin, SK. The role is 3 hours per day on student days, starting as soon as possible and ending June 25, 2027.

Responsibilities include supporting students with diverse or high behavioral needs, assisting with programming under a teacher's guidance, and ensuring safety per plans. A Grade 12 diploma and a related background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma from an institution recognized by the Board of Education.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and be flexible.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of school software such as word processing and computer assisted learning software.
• An educational assistant or equivalent diploma, NVCI, First Aid, Autism and Behavioral educational background assets.
• Commitment to the ideals of public education and SECSPSD mission, vision and guiding principles.

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse needs and/or high behavioral needs.
• Lift up to 60 pounds without assist and up to 120 pounds with 2-person lift or mechanical lift.
• Transport students (personal vehicle may be required).
• Attend to personal hygiene and medical needs as required.
• Prepare and plan student-based life skills and academic programming under teacher direction.
• Help students transition to work with others and adults.
• Follow behavior and safety plans created for students.
• Supervise intensive needs students and small groups as required.
