Job summary

Lil'wat Nation Education Assistant position within the Community School supports daily class activities, supervises students during morning, recess, lunch, and assists with reading and math programs. The role reports to the School Admin Team and strives to uphold classroom routines.

Applicants should have Grade 12 or equivalent; ECE or related certificates are assets. Minimum 2+ years with children, familiarity with behavior supports and development is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12, ECE or other related certificates, diploma an asset.
• 2+ years of experience working with kids.
• Some knowledge of child development is preferred.
• A clear criminal record check, including the vulnerable sector, is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily class schedule and supervise morning, recess, and lunch.
• Assist with math and reading programs and other classroom duties.
• Provide student assistance under the Elementary Vice Principal guidance.
• Work with other professionals to support student success.
• Maintain a daily journal and follow the student improvement plan as directed.
