Job summary

UBC Okanagan invites applications for an Academic & Career Advisor (part-time at 0.7 FTE). You will support students across faculties, helping with academic planning and career readiness.

In this centralized team, you’ll guide students from their first year onward, connect them with study and work-integrated opportunities, and collaborate with faculty and staff to promote retention and success.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• 3–4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Advises students on academic, personal and career goals and identifies suitable courses and programs.
• Supports course selection to meet degree requirements and prerequisites.
• Engages in retention initiatives and monitors student progress and graduation eligibility.
• Collaborates with faculty and staff to provide consistent, campus-wide advising.
