A leading defense technology company in Ontario is seeking a CO-OP Student for a Robotic Process Automation Developer role for the Fall Term. The ideal candidate will support automation projects, convert business processes into automated solutions, and help innovate existing methodologies. Applicants should be pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Science and possess strong analytical skills. Experience with Automation Anywhere or coding in languages such as Python or JavaScript are preferred.

CO-OP Student, Robotic Process Automation Developer (4 month term)

Fall Term (September - December)

KEY JOB ELEMENTS:

  1. Support the development of a GDLS Digital Workforce through Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other automation tools / techniques as required.
  2. Convert existing manual and / or repeatable business processes into automated or partially automated solutions.
  3. Match an appropriate solution to the business process.
  4. Recognize business requirements to determine actionable automation solutions.
  5. Work with assigned business analyst and integrate within the existing framework to provide seamless value-added services.
  6. Responsible for the automation development cycle including:
  7. Development of automation solutions based on defined user requirements, including risk and error handling protocols.
  8. Testing and troubleshooting.
  9. Production monitoring.
  10. Enhancement deployment.
  11. Support design and update of internal communication portal content.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working towards a university degree / college diploma in Computer Science or related field of study.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automation best practices (ability to code).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Desire to innovate, continually improve existing processes, and develop new methodologies.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work proactively with a focus on execution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience with RPA utilizing Automation Anywhere (preferred), and potentially other coding including but not limited to Python, C++, C#, JavaScript, HTML, etc.

  • Usual mobility demands include standing, walking, sitting, and stair climbing to access upper offices.
