A leading research university in Ottawa is seeking a part-time student research assistant to assist with various research activities including data collection and analysis. The ideal candidate is a graduate student with experience in research, data analysis skills, and excellent organizational abilities. This in-person position offers an hourly salary of $25.06, requiring English proficiency. The position runs from September 2025 to August 2026.
Position Summary: The student research assistant should be a graduate student in one of the following academic disciplines or equivalent: bioethics/ ethics, law, sociology, data science, political science, and/or public health. The candidate should be prepared to assist with all stages of research including: ethics submission, participant recruitment, data collection (e.g. literature reviews, surveys, interviews, focus groups), data analysis, and the drafting, copy-editing and source-checking of submissions to high impact peer reviewed law, bioethics, social scientific and scientific journals.
McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4.
