About The Position

Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)

Work arrangement: Onsite 4th floor

Reports To: Operations and Facilities Manager

Reason for vacancy: New student, part -time position

Expected hiring salary range: $17.20 per hour

Primary Purpose

The Student Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact at the Operations and Facilities front desk, providing friendly, professional service to students, staff, and visitors. This role supports the day-to-day administrative needs of the department while contributing to a welcoming and organized environment.

Working Hours

Part-time hours during regular business operations, typically between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Flexibility to support occasional events or initiatives outside these hours may be requested.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to the Operations and Facilities team and university staff at large.
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming presence at the front desk, greeting and assisting all visitors, students, faculty and staff.
  • Respond to in-person, telephone, and email inquiries, providing information or redirecting individuals to appropriate contacts as needed.
  • Support departmental initiatives and events, including assisting with room/space set-ups and tear down, distributing materials, and assist with inspections
  • Ensure the front desk, reception, collaboration area and kitchen are tidy, organized, and well-stocked with necessary materials.
  • Perform other administrative and operational tasks as assigned by the Manager, Operations and Facilities or Senior Leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Niagara Falls Canada.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, courteous, and customer-service focused demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
