About The Position

Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

Work arrangement: Part-Time, 2 Term Contract (Onsite)

Reports To: Associate Dean, MA in Digital Media and Global Communications

Reason for vacancy: Student Position

Expected hiring salary range: $17.60 per hour. This part-time, term contract student position is open and reserved for current UNF students only.

Primary Purpose

The student Radio Production Assistant supports the daily operations of UNF Pulse Radio by organizing digital content, coordinating broadcast schedules, and assisting students in the development of their episodes.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Manage, schedule, and archive episodes and digital content, maintaining accurate records and ensuring smooth broadcasting.
  • Oversee on-air scheduling and manage the 365 Live UNF Radio platform.
  • Connect with students to guide them through episode development, assist with submissions, and ensure compliance with radio policies.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and faculty, provide orientation resources.
Skills & Competencies
  • Basic knowledge of audio recording/editing software and digital file management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear communication and ability to support and guide peers.
  • Interest in digital media, radio, or broadcasting.
Position Requirements
  • Must be enrolled as a student within the University of Niagara Falls Canada during the entire duration of the contract.
  • Preferred that at start date, student has completed one term.
  • Student has not worked 2 consecutive contracts with UNF.
  • Preference for cumulative average of at least 70%.
  • Must be available for a minimum of 1 shift per week. Must be available for evening and weekend work, as scheduled.
  • Strong interest in digital media, communications, AI, student and academic support services and other related fields within an academic setting.
