Job summary

Maple Lodge Farms is seeking a Student (Quality Assurance) on a contract basis to support QA and food safety functions. The role focuses on QA checks and temperature monitoring to ensure product safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • No previous experience required; working knowledge of CFIA, GMP, HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Statistical analysis experience is preferred.
  • General computer skills, including MS Office, with medium datasets.
  • Ability to work in a slaughter/processing poultry environment.

Responsibilities

  • Document control and management: maintain registers and logbooks.
  • Initiate annual document review process with owners.
  • Circulate documents for signatures and approvals.
  • Post PDFs of approved documents to FSMS Drive.
  • Report metrics and assist with food safety/quality projects, including data entry and basic graphing.
  • Adhere to company policies and promote Maple Lodge Farms safety and quality controls.
  • Assist in other areas as business needs and priorities change.

Reporting to the QA Manager - Food Safety + Quality Programs, the Student (Quality Assurance) - Contractwill focus primarily on Quality Assurance and Food Safety, and will involve quality checks and temperature monitoring in order to ensure food safety and quality products.

This is an existing position within the company on a contract basis through December 31, 2026.

    • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
    • Promote and comply with all Maple Lodge Farms Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Environmental Management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

What you will bring:

Necessary Knowledge and Experience

  • No previous experience is required;

    Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;

    Some experience in statistical analysis is preferred.

    General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office) inclusive of working with medium datasets.

    Ability to work in a slaughter, raw and cooked poultry processing environment.

    Relevant food processing experience is considered an asset.

    Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and multitasks are essential for success in this role.

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Post Secondary education program.
