Maple Lodge Farms is seeking a Student (Quality Assurance) on a contract basis to support QA and food safety functions. The role focuses on QA checks and temperature monitoring to ensure product safety and quality.

Reporting to the QA Manager - Food Safety + Quality Programs, the Student (Quality Assurance) - Contractwill focus primarily on Quality Assurance and Food Safety, and will involve quality checks and temperature monitoring in order to ensure food safety and quality products.
This is an existing position within the company on a contract basis through December 31, 2026.

2. Document control and document management
Maintain document registers and logbook of changes.
Initiate annual document review process with document owners.
Circulate documents for collection of signatures for document approval.
Post PDF versions of approved documents to FSMS Documentation Drive.
Issue Change Communications, save Change Communication records electronically and follow-up with employees that have not completed and/or submitted their Change Communication records.
Convert documents in old format into new document templates (Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms, Appendices).
3. Maintain and update the Glass and Brittle Plastic checklist.
4. Assist with record review and / or verification of records during the reassessment of the HACCP plan and
5. Report on various metrics as assigned.
6. Assist with various food safety and quality related projects and food safety validations including data entry, tabulating an basic graphing.
7. Assist in other areas as business needs and priorities changes.
Adhere/comply with company policies and procedures.
Promote and comply with all Maple Lodge Farms Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Environmental Management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
What you will bring:
Necessary Knowledge and Experience
Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
Some experience in statistical analysis is preferred.
General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office) inclusive of working with medium datasets.
Ability to work in a slaughter, raw and cooked poultry processing environment.
Relevant food processing experience is considered an asset.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and multitasks are essential for success in this role.
