Job Summary

Now, if you were to come on board as a Manager, Student Life & Experience, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Be the voice of the student community to bring forward key strengths and opportunities the student population is facing today
  • Meet with key student stakeholders to create an open and transparent forum to table new ideas, key issues important today AND tomorrow, propose collaborative solutions to ultimately create a healthy, ongoing platform for a stronger student/ partnership
  • Plan, develop and execute focus group sessions, surveys and other ways to gather relevant information from student groups
  • Analyze and put together monthly summaries, key insights and recommended solutions/next steps to senior leadership team on satisfaction, preferences, student profiles, emerging trends, etc.
  • Work with social media and PR vendors to ‘listen to’ all social channels and media publications to pull out key trends and areas of feedback to incorporate into monthly executive summaries
  • Work with senior leadership team to turn this data into the development of programs, menus, marketing strategies, and operational innovations.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to identify key accounts and leverage planned marketing activity to raise awareness of position mandate and foster long-term relationships with key groups. This will lead to like-for-like sales growth through program and menu development designed to meet the fact-based needs of student consumer group.
  • Meet with clients to share insights and findings with various departments including SAG (Strategic Alliance Group), Sales, Operations (business reviews), etc. to solidify as a collaborative thought partner. This will lead to new sales and account retention backed by sound, fact-based reasoning

  • Recent student council position/experience during University/College tenure
  • University or College degree
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of culinary, nutrition, sustainability, student issues, and high level industry news & trends
  • High level thinker – lead vision & strategy of this newly created role
  • Ability to problem solve effectively and be relaxed under pressure
  • Ability to interact with individuals on all organizational levels
