Job Summary

Here at Brock Sports & Recreation, we strive to be a hub for innovative, engaging, and high-quality experiences in sport for the Brock University community and beyond. As an integral member of Brock Sports & Recreation, you will have the opportunity to be part of a great team in a dynamic sporting environment. As the Student Lead for Outdoor Sports, your job will be to assist the Manager, Events and Partnerships and serve as the lead for soccer, rugby, and lacrosse home game events. The successful applicant must be able to build relationships with our stakeholders and help problem solve game day operations.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary contact at the scoring tent for coaches and officials.
  • Assist with the set-up of the field prior to the start of the game, as necessary.
  • Ensure the set-up is proper and safe for play while abiding by OUA, CUFLA, and U SPORTS regulations.
  • Confirm game day staff are available and scheduled for all home games.
  • Ensure the smooth operations of the event and supervise staff during games.
  • Run the score clock, official scoresheet, statistics, and all other score tent technical functions as required for each sport.
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork is provided to the Manager, Events and Partnerships immediately following the game(s).
  • Collaborate and build working relationships with other stakeholders/promotional teams and campus partners.
  • Liaise with coaches on any special groups or game arrangements.
  • On game days, arrive 1.5 hours prior to game start time (e.g. 6pm game start means 4:30pm arrival).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled at Brock University for the duration of the 2025/2026 season.
  • Strong knowledge about the sports of soccer and lacrosse and their rules, specifically as they apply to OUA, CUFLA, and U SPORTS regulations.
  • Experience working with and leading a team.
  • Prior game day operation experience is considered an asset.
  • Available for all soccer, rugby, and lacrosse games, including regular season, exhibition, and playoff games (evenings, weekends, reading weeks, etc.).
