Student Dietary Aide - Part Time

About Greenwood Court:
Greenwood Court is designed as a 'Community of Care' where seniors are able to age in place. As the needs of our seniors change, they have access to additional services and supports without having to leave familiar surroundings or newly developed friendships. About the Position:

Reporting to the Director of Nutrition Services, the Student Dietary Aide is responsible for serving food, assisting with stock, dishwashing, and other related duties. We are looking for candidates with a great attitude to join our team. This position is best suited for a student currently enrolled in an Ontario Secondary School, other candidates will be considered. This position pays minimum wage and will have approximately 12 hours of work in a two week period.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Food Safety Training Certificate required

Experience:

  • Food serving experience considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to relate, communicate and co-operate effectively with staff, residents, residents’ families, and the public
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition and special diet needs of individual residents
  • Able to operate kitchen utensils and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Able to work in an environment that is subject to temperature change
  • Able to tolerate standing and lifting throughout the workday
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

New employees will be required to complete a vulnerable sector check (or sign a declaration if under 18 years of age) and TB test as part of the onboarding process.
