Job summary

Douglas College is seeking a Student Assistant, Communications to help create content for Student Affairs, including social media posts, newsletters, and printed materials. You will work with the Student Life team at events and develop a semester social media plan for Instagram.

The role is located at the New Westminster/Coquitlam campuses and involves up to 20 hours per week. Ideal candidates are current Douglas College students with experience in Canva, photography, videography, and strong

Qualifications

• Must be a current Douglas College student.
• Experience creating Instagram posts and social media content.
• Comfortable in front of the camera and able to take photos/videos.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with timely and original Student Affairs content.
• Develop a social media plan for the Student Life Instagram each semester.
• Capture photos and videos at Student Affairs events.
• Coordinate social media interviews with students and staff at events.
• Write copy for the Current Student Newsletter.
• Support the Communications Officer, Current Students on various projects.
