Michael Garron Hospital seeks a Physiotherapy Extern to provide safe, quality patient care under supervision. This role involves collaboration with healthcare professionals and performing critical patient care duties while enhancing clinical skills. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited Physiotherapy program and hold a current BLS certificate.
The Physiotherapy Extern works in the capacity of an unregulated health care and under the mentorship of a Clinical Extern Coordinator to provide quality and safe patient care. Clinical Externs work in collaboration with and under direct and / or indirectsupervision of an appointed regulated healthcare professional (RHP).
Under supervision, you’ll perform essential patient care duties, contribute to accurate clinical documentation, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a team-based environment. This position allows you to actively support the rehab team while enhancing your clinical skills. Working under direct and / or indirect supervision of a regulated healthcare provider, you'll contribute to safe, quality patient care. You'll be part of a supportive learning environment with dedicated Clinical Extern Coordinators providing mentorship and ongoing development. As a Physiotherapy student extern, you are required to work minimum 1 shift per 3-week period, and can work to a maximum of 75 hours bi-weekly.
