The Student Assistant position is responsible for providing support services, including personal care, mobility, lifting, and positive behaviour and safety support within the K-12 school system. Under the direction of teachers and school teams, the Student Assistant facilitates student agency, self-determination, and active participation in all aspects of school life, including participation in school events such as field trips. Qualifications and conditions: The Student Assistant position is responsible for providing support services, including personal care, mobility, lifting, and positive behaviour and safety support within the K-12 school system. Under the direction of teachers and school teams, the Student Assistant facilitates student agency, self-determination, and active participation in all aspects of school life, including participation in school events such as field trips. The Student Assistant is required to follow procedures related to the operation of the school (fire drills, emergencies, etc); follow student-specific emergency procedures; and maintain confidentiality regarding students and the school.
