Job summary

Cenovus Energy, based in Calgary, invites motivated students to join the Workforce Analytics and Strategic Planning Team for a four-month term beginning September 2026. The role focuses on HR analytics, programming, data engineering, and analytics tasks under mentorship from industry professionals.

You will contribute to automating HR processes, developing applications, and supporting a Databricks migration, while building real-world skills in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Business HR, Computer Science, Data Science or Data Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term.
• Candidates currently enrolled in Masters or Ph.D. programs may be considered.
• New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develop scripts and custom applications to automate and optimize existing HR processes.
• Develop and execute programming, data engineering, data analytics, statistics, and HR skills during term.
• Support data/platform migration to the new Azure Databricks platform.
