Job summary

DIALOG, a Vancouver-based multi-disciplinary design practice, seeks a structural modeller to support mass timber, steel, masonry and concrete projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers and designers to deliver integrated, sustainable solutions and ensure that drawings meet project requirements.

You will attend site reviews and inspections, prepare construction documents and cost estimates, and assist with tendering and contracts while helping manage schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology.
• 5+ years of structural modelling experience on mixed-use commercial/residential, school and healthcare projects.
• Knowledge of building codes is an asset.
• Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative, team oriented, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high quality Revit models and engineering drawings for mass timber, steel, masonry and concrete buildings
• Work with architects, interior designers, mechanical and electrical engineers to create truly integrated and sustainable design solutions
• Opportunity to grow your knowledge by attending site reviews and inspections, as well as review the contractor’s work to ensure compliance with the project drawings and specifications
• Prepare documents required for approvals, and construction cost estimates, tenders, and contracts
• Provide design support to engineers, architects, and other technologists
• Work with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved and maintained
