PTW is seeking Structural Welders and Fabricators (Fitters) for future opportunities at our Calgary fabrication facility. We offer flexible start times with options for morning or afternoon shifts. This posting is an expression of interest for upcoming work opportunities.

Good to Know

• Monday to Friday shifts, with opportunities for weekend overtime
• 8-10 hour workdays with potential for overtime

A Day in the Life

• Read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and symbols
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using processes like FCAW and SMAW
• Remove welds using Air Arc Gouging
• Complete work within specified timeframes and according to specifications
• Accurately fill out time sheets, weight sheets, hazard analysis sheets, etc.
• Operate manual flame-cutting equipment
• Adjust welding equipment and tooling as per work specifications
• Maintain cleanliness in the work area as required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience; college or industry courses in welding are assets
• Interprovincial Red Seal certification is an asset
• Specialization in structural construction welding is an asset
• Current CWB qualifications
• Strong understanding of welding equipment and accessories
• Knowledge of pre-heat and post-heat procedures

Other Requirements

• Own transportation required (location not accessible by public transit)
• Night shift premium applies
• Supply basic hand tools
• CSA-approved steel-toed boots required
• Overhead Crane certification is an asset
