Job Title: Technical Lead - Detail Design

Location: Halifax, NS

Salary: $77,991-$98,476

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design team, applying technical expertise to complex design tasks
  • Provide advice, guidance, and mentoring to team members, ensuring adherence to Detail Design processes and Design Management Systems (LCM)
  • Identify and escalate complex design issues, advising on technical resolutions that impact program delivery
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables meet standards, rules, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to technical governance by ensuring compliance with the Quality Management process and supporting approvals for spatial designs and systems
  • Provide expert technical advice to other professionals, technical staff, and customers, using judgment and experience to resolve issues based on best practices and precedent
Your skills and experiences

The Detail Design team

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role within Canada’s River Class Destroyer program and lead complex design activities in a collaborative, high-performance team. As the Technical Lead, you will lead a team of ten designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective design solutions. You will provide technical expertise, guide team members, manage complex design activities, and ensure compliance with design standards and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will be key in delivering designs on schedule while maintaining the highest quality.
