Structural Lab Lead

We are seeking professionals specialized in vibration testing to lead a structural dynamic testing facility. This position requires excellent technical knowledge and experience with vibration and shock testing and good communication skills to facilitate collaboration with test clients and thus ensure efficiency and compliance with testing procedures and standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the structural test facility, including equipment maintenance, calibration, process development, test preparation and execution, and safety protocols.
  2. Lead and develop a team of trained structural test facility operators and support staff as required to support testing needs
  3. Develop and maintain a training program for structural testing operations
  4. Liaise between relevant test stakeholders to ensure that the units under test, relevant test systems, and test instrumentation are efficiently integrated for test execution
  5. Ensure tests are conducted safely for personnel, test equipment and test articles, including ensuring checklists and defined processes are followed and completed
  6. Execute tests and/or provide guidance to structural analysts/test engineer for proper test execution
  7. Ensure the vibration table and test equipment are operating properly and regularly maintained
  8. Identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues or inefficiencies during testing
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of test procedures, results, and facility operations
  10. Document, report and implement lessons learned
  11. Recommend and implement process and test capability improvements in the spirit of continuous improvement
  12. Support and initiate issue identification and resolution using established processes and systems
Qualifications
  1. A bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in vibration testing or structural analysis with proven experience in vibration testing for space hardware
  3. Proficiency in interpreting test results and analyzing data, preferably using Siemens Simcenter Testlab software
  4. Knowledge of finite element analysis, preferably using NX/Nastran
  5. Demonstrates initiative
  6. Good communication skills

The salary range for this position is $99,000.00 - $181,500.00 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
