GFT is seeking a Bridge Inspector- Structures to join our Transportation Team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

What You'll Be Challenged To Do

As a Structural Inspector, you will play a pivotal role in completing detailed visual inspections across Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity for career expansion, as you will engage in complex problem solving, enhance processes, and spearhead small projects to ensure successful project delivery. This position will allow for collaboration with peers, senior levels, and stakeholders to tackle challenges, contribute to professional growth, and prepare for leadership roles.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Planning and completing routine and enhanced bridge inspections in accordance with the OSIM.
  • Training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Education | Experience:

What You Will Bring To Our Firm

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in bridge and culvert inspection.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team on day-to-day inspections.
  • Flexibility to travel to sites and work outside of normal business hours.
  • experience and training in the operation of bucket trucks, manlifts, and under bridge inspection vehicles.
  • Physically capable of performing field work including working at heights, carrying ladders and gear, etc.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

What We Prefer You Bring

  • Experience using rope access techniques (SPRAT, IRATA) for the inspection of bridges and certified as a SPRAT Level I, II or III Technician is considered a strong benefit.
  • Experience and ability to learn NDT (non-destructive testing) methods such as dye-penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, etc.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
