Structural Forensic Engineer - Full Time (Thunder Bay, Ontario)

Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences is currently seeking a Structural Forensic Engineer who is dynamic, motivated, and passionate about their career to support the Thunder Bay, Ontario area.

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing forensic investigations for structural, building envelope, as well as building code compliance issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs is required. Good presentation skills are an asset. Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and other stakeholders. Responsibilities

1. Assess, analyze, and report on the cause and origin of structural failures
2. Interview witnesses, service personnel, and other local officials
3. Provide structural designs for restoration and renovation purposes
4. Develop and complete full working drawings for building department approval
5. Manage complex or innovative projects requiring new or unique design approaches
6. Lead projects from inception to completion
7. Provide clear, accurate, and timely designs

Education, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (required)
2. Professional Engineering License or eligibility to be licensed in Ontario (required)
3. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
4. Preferably, experience includes strong residential design and/or equivalent work experience
5. Experience in the insurance and legal industries is essential
6. Proven track record of successfully completing projects
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
8. Expertise in the Regional Building Code
9. Hands-on construction experience is an asset
10. Positive, self-motivated, and driven attitude
11. Willingness to support marketing and sales through industry engagement
12. Customer-facing experience, including discussing project budgets and maintaining communication with clients
