Structural Forensic Engineer - Full Time (Southwestern Ontario - Chatham, Sarnia, Windsor)

Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences is currently seeking a Structural Forensic Engineer who is dynamic, motivated, and passionate about their career to support the Southwestern Ontario area including Chatham, Sarnia, and Windsor.

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing forensic investigations related to structural issues, building envelope, and building code compliance. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required. Good presentation skills are an asset. Effective communication with clients and stakeholders is a must. Join Pario’s successful team to work on diverse projects such as commercial (retail/office), residential, institutional, and environmental. This position involves working within a creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence. Willingness to travel is required.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess, analyze, and report on the cause and origin of structural failures.
  2. Interview witnesses, service personnel, and local officials.
  3. Provide structural designs for restoration and renovation purposes.
  4. Develop and complete full working drawings for building department approval.
  5. Manage complex or innovative projects requiring new design approaches.
  6. Lead projects from inception to completion.
  7. Deliver clear, accurate, and timely designs.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  2. Professional Engineering License or eligibility to be licensed in Ontario.
  3. Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
  4. Experience in residential design and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
  5. Experience within the insurance and legal industries is required.
  6. Proven track record of successfully completing projects.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  8. Expertise in the Regional Building Code.
  9. Hands-on construction experience is an asset.
  10. Positive, self-driven, motivated attitude.
  11. Willingness and passion to support marketing and sales through industry presentations and events.
  12. Customer-facing experience, including discussing project budgets and maintaining communication with clients.
