Job Description: Structural Engineering Co-op Student (Fall 2025)

Mott MacDonald, a global engineering, management, and development consultancy, is seeking a 4-month co-op student based in the Toronto office for the Fall 2025 term. Join our buildings structural team in Vancouver as we develop our presence in Canada and beyond.

The role involves primarily structural engineering design, with a secondary focus on developing digital solutions such as automation of structural calculations and AI tool implementation, utilizing computational design practices like Grasshopper, Dynamo, C#, and Python.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic structural design calculations (beams, columns, slabs in steel, concrete)
  • Use Rhino/Grasshopper for parametric design
  • Program in Python
  • Manage GitHub repositories
  • Develop API connections and plugins for structural software
  • Contribute to our internal Python-based engineering toolbox

Qualifications:
