Job description

Hazen is currently seeking applicants for a Mid-Level Structural Engineer for a full-time employment opportunity in our Calgary office. Prospective applicants must have between 7 and 15 years of experience and have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration from an institution approved by the Accreditation Board or APEGA. Prospective applicants must be registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). Ability to register in other provinces, as well as to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the United States, is also desired

  • This position will require skills in the analysis, design, and construction of environmental structures such as Industrial Buildings, Pump Stations, Process Basins, and Treatment Facilities. The selected individual will lead the structural design and construction administration responsibilities for major projects involving upgrades to wastewater, water and conveyance infrastructure. Projects will be located in both Canada and the United States.
  • Experience in design and construction of structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and aluminum is required as well as knowledge of applicable building codes and design standards including National Building Code of Canada, Canadian Standards Association publications for concrete and steel, ACI 318 and ACI 350. Knowledge of US codes such as AISC, ASCE and IBC is also desired.
  • Experience in structural analysis and design software.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD required.
  • Candidate must be an effective communicator and be able to successfully work in a multi-discipline team environment, both in-person and remotely.
