We’ve opened a role in our Sudbury or Timmins office for a talented, entrepreneurial Structural Engineer – Industrial / Mining to work alongside exceptional people in JLR’s Structural group.

Your Role as an Industrial / Mining Structural Engineer :

Let’s discuss how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. As a Structural Engineer in the industrial/mining sector, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaborating with an established, multidisciplinary, integrated technical team of engineers, architects, planners, and technologists.
  2. Supporting project teams in completing underground and surface infrastructure projects in the mining and industrial markets, from concept to completion.
  3. Conducting feasibility studies, ranging from scoping-level to preliminary engineering and costing.
  4. Performing building and structural condition assessments, feasibility studies, and detailed designs for assets such as headframes, conveyor galleries, equipment access/foundations, and underground and surface structures.
  5. Participating in developing competitive proposals to secure new projects.
  6. Managing workload to meet project deadlines and ensure client satisfaction.
  7. Mentoring junior engineers and technologists.
  8. Developing into a Discipline Lead on multidisciplinary projects, overseeing structural design, coordinating across disciplines, managing budgets and schedules, ensuring QA/QC processes, and stamping final deliverables.
  9. Assisting senior staff with business development, including managing client relationships, understanding client needs, preparing proposals, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop competitive service offerings.
