Job summary

Ausenco in Vancouver is seeking a Structural EIT to join our Minerals and Metals team. You will prepare cost effective structural designs from concept to detail in line with Canadian codes, under supervision of senior engineers.

The role requires 2–4 years of structural experience, EIT with EGBC, and proficiency in STAAD.Pro, MathCAD, AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and Smart Plant. We value independent work and teamwork with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
  • 2-4 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Registration as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) with EGBC.
  • Knowledge in design of steel structures, reinforced concrete structures.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and as part of a multidisciplinary group.
  • Familiarity in structural engineering design software such as STAAD.Pro, MathCAD and Microsoft Office products. Experience with AutoCAD, NavisWorks and Smart Plant would be considered an asset.
  • Good communication skills including report and proposal writing are essential

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost effective structural engineering designs from conceptual design to detail design, tender and construction in accordance with Canadian Codes and Standards, working under supervision of senior structural engineer.
  • Perform analysis and design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and mining projects.
  • Perform site visits and inspect existing structures. Perform evaluation and analysis of existing structures for modifications and additions, and propose reinforcement solutions.
  • Prepare material take-off of steel and concrete.
  • Complete tasks under minimal supervision ensuring that objectives of cost, quality and time are met.
  • Be able to work directly with engineering and drafting staff in order to produce detailed drawing packages.
  • Liaise with client representatives and general contractors directly.

About the Role

Salary range:$75,000-$85,000 annually.
