About:
Our client is a growing multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm specialized in geo-structural and geotechnical design for excavation projects throughout Ontario. Offering design, monitoring, and project management services to clients, with their team of Engineers and Field Technicians. This is a privately-owned and stable company now looking to add an experienced Structural/Geotechnical Engineer to their team.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Design and review project details, inspection and investigation reports, geotechnical instrumentation, and earthworks projects.
2. Collaborate with coworkers (design and field teams) to ensure project completion from start to finish.
3. Work closely with involved stakeholders.
4. Project management of various ongoing and assigned plans.
5. Frequent travel to project sites (within Southwestern Ontario, GTA).
6. Ability to oversee borehole drilling and geotechnical assessments.
7. Help the field team in monitoring and installation of monitoring instruments onsite.
8. Creation of investigational geotechnical reports, testing, and specialized foundational projects.
9. Conduct onsite activities and inspections.

The Ideal Candidate Has:

1. Strong knowledge of structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles and practices. 5-10+ years of overall experience.
2. P.Eng designation in Ontario is mandatory.
3. Ability to communicate with various stakeholders (field staff, clients, approving municipalities).
4. Detail-oriented, thorough, organized, and methodical approach to tasks.
5. In-field instrumentation experience, capability to use equipment for reporting and maintenance tasks.
6. Coachability, be open to working with the senior leadership team to improve your game, take advice and implement new strategies.
7. College or University education mandatory; Bachelor's degree or Diploma required.
8. Experience in projects related to shoring (temporary) design, deep excavations, and heavy civil.
9. Must have a valid license and/or means of transportation to visit project sites.
10. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel).
11. Please Note: This role may require work outside of traditional office hours, depending on project expectations.
