Overview

Structural Engineer, Buildings at LEA Associates South Asia Private Limited. In LEA’s Buildings team, you will lead the design and delivery of structural systems for a wide range of projects, including institutional, commercial, residential, and transit facilities. You will take projects from concept to construction, applying advanced technical expertise in materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, and mass timber.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop structural engineering designs for institutional, commercial, residential, and transit projects from concept through to construction completion.
  • Design structural systems using steel, concrete, masonry, and mass timber.
  • Prepare comprehensive contract documents, including structural drawings and technical specifications.
  • Perform construction reviews to verify general conformance with contract documents.
  • Lead coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, clearly communicating structural design intent.
  • Support project planning by contributing to the development of estimates, schedules, and budgets as required.
  • Conduct field inspections of existing structures and provide technical reports with clear recommendations.
  • Prepare concise and accurate site visit reports to document observations and actions.
  • Ensure a high standard of quality, performing quality control reviews on all deliverables and maintaining LEA’s commitment to engineering excellence.
  • Continuously grow professional skills and knowledge through training sessions, seminars, workshops, and involvement in professional associations to stay updated on the latest trends, software, and technology.
  • Assist with managing other related assignments within the scope of the Structures Division, which may include supporting the Transit or the Bridge Sectors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 7-10 years of structural experience designing steel, concrete, masonry, and / or mass timber structures for commercial, institutional, transit, or residential projects.
  • A licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng. designation) with Professional Engineers Ontario is required.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Building Code and reference material design standards.
  • Advanced working knowledge of structural analysis software (such as ETABS, SAP, and SAFE); working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD, and MicroStation is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic and process-oriented, prefers to operate in a fast and dynamic environment.
  • Team player and able to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Able to prioritize tasks with excellent organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and commendable problem-solving skills.
Work Arrangement
