A day in the life...
  • Perform engineering calculations and assessments for various structures.
  • Manage projects and coordinate with clients and other disciplines.
  • Oversee all project phases from feasibility to construction.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Perform varied engineering assignments with support from a senior principal engineer.
  • Provide recommendations to clients on changes, cost estimates, and payments.
  • Develop work plans aligned with client needs and ensure targets and standards are met.
  • Maintain key client relationships.
  • Travel occasionally within Western Canada for site assessments and support.
What you\'ll bring to WSP
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering;
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the APEGA, or eligibility to do so;
  • 6+ years of relevant experience;
  • Project Management experience is an asset;
  • Experience in the design of new and renovation projects for a variety of project types including Institutional (schools, data centres, prisons), Commercial (offices, retail stores, mixed use), Transportation (LRT, maintenance facilities, transit facilities), Health Care (hospitals, laboratories), and Light Industrial;
  • Seismic analysis and design experience is an asset;
  • Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, and RamSteel is an asset;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
