WSP's Property & Buildings Structural Team is currently looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Calgary office. A day in the life...
- Perform engineering calculations and assessments for various structures.
- Manage projects and coordinate with clients and other disciplines.
- Oversee all project phases from feasibility to construction.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Perform varied engineering assignments with support from a senior principal engineer.
- Provide recommendations to clients on changes, cost estimates, and payments.
- Develop work plans aligned with client needs and ensure targets and standards are met.
- Maintain key client relationships.
- Travel occasionally within Western Canada for site assessments and support.
What you\'ll bring to WSP
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering;
- Registered Professional Engineer with the APEGA, or eligibility to do so;
- 6+ years of relevant experience;
- Project Management experience is an asset;
- Experience in the design of new and renovation projects for a variety of project types including Institutional (schools, data centres, prisons), Commercial (offices, retail stores, mixed use), Transportation (LRT, maintenance facilities, transit facilities), Health Care (hospitals, laboratories), and Light Industrial;
- Seismic analysis and design experience is an asset;
- Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, and RamSteel is an asset;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
